The HORTUS project by Herzog & de Meuron sets new standards for the radical implementation of the circular economy by consistently using materials such as clay, wood, and waste paper to minimize its carbon footprint. HORTUS takes a particularly innovative approach to the energy challenge of hot water production. The building completely dispenses with a central hot water system. Instead, HORTUS relies on shower channels from Joulia combined with instantaneous water heaters, reducing the entire building services to a minimum. Joulia Twinline 10P shower channels are used in all seven shower areas. In combination with compact 13 kW electric instantaneous water heaters, energy is recycled directly during showering, minimizing energy losses and guaranteeing the highest hygiene standards.
Regardless of whether you already know which system is right for you, we will support you with a customized quote.
